
Keeping Bathrooms Warm Without Blinding Your Guests
When we design infrared heaters for bathrooms, we aren’t just fighting the cold. We’re fighting humidity. That’s why we build them to IP65 standards. It’s a fancy way of saying they won’t short out the second a little steam hits them. But here’s the real tricky part: the light.
Easy on the eyes
Ever looked at a standard short-wave IR lamp? It’s blinding. Now imagine that over a baby’s bath. Infants have incredibly sensitive retinas, and that harsh glare is a no-go. To fix this, we use quartz tubes with special coatings and filtered glass. We basically strip away the UV rays and the blinding white light, leaving only the warmth. The result? A soft, gentle glow. You get all that cozy heat on your skin, but none of the “I can’t see” flash.
The battle against moisture (and heat)
Water and electricity are a nightmare pairing. To keep things safe, we seal the lens and the chassis with high-temp silicone gaskets. This keeps the dust and water jets out. But there’s a catch. When you seal a unit that tight to keep moisture out, the heat has nowhere to go. It builds up inside fast. If you don’t have enough surface area or a solid heat sink, you’re looking at melted wires or a thermal fuse that trips every five minutes. It’s a delicate balance, but it’s what makes the unit last.
Getting it installed
We made these for easy drop-in replacement in ceiling grids. Plus, we use moisture-resistant connectors, so you aren’t wrestling with wires in a damp ceiling for an hour. One quick tip if you’re putting these in a big commercial bathroom: watch your power load. A few of these running at once pull a lot of current. Make sure your breakers can handle the wattage, or you’ll be spending your afternoon resetting the power.
