Power, Voltage, and Fit: The Details That Matter
Let’s talk power. The wattage and voltage in the infrared tube set the tone for performance. More wattage means stronger infrared output, sure, but it also pushes the filament temperature higher. So we carefully match wattage to tube length. That keeps the heat even across the surface. No hot spots. No uneven warmth. Just steady comfort that lasts. Voltage comes down to what your place runs on. If your facility uses 400V lines, going with a 400V tube lowers the current for the same power. That can mean smaller conductors and less stress on connections. But it also means the fixture and wiring need to be rated for that voltage and the heat that comes with it. As for size, we kept the tube length and footprint compact so it slips right into standard panel assemblies. Drop-in replacement. No redesign needed.
What’s Inside: Halogen, Quartz, and a Smart Connection
Inside, the tube uses a halogen cycle within a quartz envelope. Quartz can handle serious heat and stays steady even when it’s humid. The halogen cycle keeps the filament cleaner over time, which helps maintain consistent output and pushes back against early burnout. We chose an R7s connector because it’s solid and simple. The two-pin design gives stable contact, and it’s a common standard, so swapping tubes is straightforward. No custom terminal blocks. No headaches. And the light? It’s controlled. The tube is tuned to emit in the infrared band with a filtered visible spectrum, cutting harsh glare. You get warmth without that bright, uncomfortable glare that can bother sensitive eyes.
Why It Shines in the Bathroom
In a bathroom, infrared heat warms the body directly. That means you feel comfort faster than with convection heating. The panel shape keeps things small and the mounting clean. That eye-safe spectrum matters when the heater sits close to infants—less glare, less visual stress, and plenty of radiant heat. Now, the trade-off: high heat density means you need proper ventilation and thermal management in the fixture. Pack the heat without enough cooling, and the tube and housing run hotter. That can shorten service life. So match the heater to a well-vented enclosure and stick to the rated mounting distances.
